I have been suffering from chronic kidney disease and undergoing haemodialysis. My mother was also on home dialysis for four years before she passed away recently. I have been receiving treatment at CIHSR for a while now. Before the CMHIS scheme, I was covered under a private group insurance plan that only paid for my dialysis sessions, leaving me to purchase the dialyzer myself. I needed to undergo dialysis three times a week, resulting in an approximate monthly expenditure of Rs. 17,000. After enrolling in the CMHIS scheme, I no longer have any out-of-pocket expenses, as it covers both my dialysis sessions and the dialyzer. This has significantly eased my financial burden and ensured I can continue my treatment without the constant worry of medical expenses. I believe CMHIS has become a household name as other patients who come to CIHSR for dialysis are also using CMHIS cards.
The Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) is a public health insurance scheme implemented by the Government of Nagaland to offer cashless treatment to eligible citizens of Nagaland.
