This is my first time using the services of the CMHIS scheme. In 2015, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to bear all the expenses myself, as I had not applied for any insurance scheme early. Then, in 2021, I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, which has spread to my bones. Fortunately, by then, I already had a CMHIS card, as my husband is a retired government employee and I am his dependent. Almost all my medical bills have been covered under this scheme, significantly lessening our financial burden. I learned about this scheme through a friend and also from a cancer support group. The CMHIS scheme has provided invaluable support during a very challenging time, ensuring that I can focus on my treatment without the added stress of financial strain.
