The Scheme is a step towards fulfilling The Nagaland Sustainable Development Goal Vision 2030, launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland in August 2021 which states that by 2030, Nagaland will ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all ages by providing equitable, affordable and quality healthcare services to the people of the state.

The Objective of the Scheme is to improve citizens‘ access to good quality, affordable healthcare; reduce catastrophic health expenditure on hospitalization, improve access to quality health care, reduce unmet needs and reduce out of pocket healthcare expenditures for the entire State of Nagaland.

CMHIS is implemented in convergence with the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB PM-JAY) which is a flagship Program of the Government of India; the converged Scheme shall be known as the “Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna- Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme” or the “AB PM-JAY CMHIS”

The AB PM-JAY CMHIS will strengthen health systems and service delivery by increasing efficiencies, by reducing fragmentation in existing health protection schemes and also improve service delivery and user-satisfaction.
